Nicola Baartse:
Principal |
BAPA (Dance), DipDanceTech&Choreog, RSA-NVQ Exercise to
Music.
Nicola is
trained in RAD ballet, Graham Technique, Release Technique,
Jazz, Hip-Hop and Movement Meditation. In 1998 Nicola
founded Mercury Dance Theatre (MDT) in London. MDT performed
at music and dance Festivals throughout England, culminating
in an independent London season in February 2000. After 6
years in London she returned to Sydney, Australia,
choreographing and performing with Ask Dance Theatre,
Stretch MK1 Theatre Co., Vibrant Dance Co., and One Vision
Dance Co. She was on the dance faculty of Wesley Institute's
degree programme from 2006 - 2008 and has also taught
movement meditation and community dance.
She is
qualified in fitness instructing, all major forms of stage
dance, and is a registered teacher and Examiner of the
Living Dance International Ballet Curriculum. She is also a
member of the Australian Teachers of Dance Association. |

Helen Wright: Senior Dance Teacher. Ballet, Tap, Jazz &
Prechoolers |
Adv. Dip Creative Ministry (Dance), B.Th, Cert.IV-TAA
Helen Wright is a
professional dancer, teacher and actress. She has over 10
years dance teaching experience in jazz, hip hop, tap,
contemporary dance, physical theatre and drama.
She has been dancing and
performing from a young age and has directed the Breakthru'
Artz ensemble of actors and dancers touring across Australia
as well as performing in their productions. Helen has taught
at dance schools, community classes and dance conferences.
Helen is an inspiring and
encouraging dance professional and Oasis Movement Academy is
very excited to have her on the teaching team. |

Jon Wright: Drama Teacher |
Bachelor of Theatre
Jon Wright is
a talented and caring drama teacher, having a great rapport
with his classes. He is a
professional actor and teacher. Jon has over 5
years drama teaching experience and has worked with adults,
children, and the disabled.
Jon
cherishes a dream of one day retiring to a Llama farm.

Kara Harris: Dance Teacher. Ballet, Jazz, Hip hop,
Preschoolers |
Bachelor of Dance
Kara graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor
of Dance from Wesley Institute. During this time she studied
a broad spectrum of dance styles including Jazz,
Contemporary, Ballet and Hip Hop along with Choreography and
Anatomy & Physiology.
In 2006 Kara began performing and
touring with Breakthru Artz and has been fortunate to do
secondments with the musical Wicked and the Sydney
Dance Company. In 2008 she was the choreographer and
assistant co-ordinator for Wesley Mission’s Easter March
at Circular Quay and in 2009 was the artistic director of
her own show Disposable.
Kara has performed at venues such as
the Acer Arena, Entertainment Centre and Sydney Opera House
and she has recently returned from a trip to the U.S. where
she performed in L.A. and at Disneyland.
Kara has several years teaching
experience across a variety of ages as well as working with
community dance groups and running work shops.

Ashleigh Golding: Dance Teacher. Hip hop, Jazz,
Preschoolers |
Bachelor
of Dance
Ashleigh graduated from the Wesley Institute of the Arts
in 2009 with a Bachelor of Dance majoring in Contemporary
Dance.
Commencing dance at the age of 3 she has been training in
various styles including ballet (RAD), jazz, contemporary,
hip-hop, tap and acrobatics. She has also performed in the
Short, Sweet and Dance festival, completed a Secondment with
the dance company Tas-Dance and recently danced in a music
video for an upcoming artist.
Ashleigh also choreographed and danced in the 2010 Fast and
Fresh Dance Festival, her work Disconnected making it into
the finals and receiving a "Career Development" award.
With a passion for teaching and choreographing Ashleigh is
excited to be part of the Oasis Movement Academy Team.

Corinne Urquhart:
Dance Teacher.
Contemporary, Ballet.
|
Dip. Ed, Dip. Spec. Ed.,Grad. Dip. Dance Therapy,
Grad. Dip. Media
Corinne is trained in ballet and contemporary/modern dance,
and has experience in Hip-Hop, Street Dance, Jazz and Ethnic
Dance. She has danced professionally with several dance
companies nationally and internationally. She has also
worked in many cultural community arenas.
She has
also worked in the area of Dance Movement Therapy with
people with developmental, physical and/or emotional issues.
Corinne is currently involved in creative movement,
contemporary dance and choreography. She is studying at UTS,
a Post Graduate Certificate in Media Arts and Production. |
